Insight Housing and BRIDGE Housing were recently recognized for their joint mixed-income developments.
Two weeks ago, Natalie Sandoval, Executive Director of ULI San Francisco, was interviewed live on Bloomberg News as part of a piece on San Francisco’s perceived doom loop. The clip can be viewed here.
Bloomberg initially published an article discussing the national narrative characterizing San Francisco as a city overrun by crime. The article references the recent Advisory Services Panel (ASP) conducted by the Urban Land Institute. ULI convened experts from across the country to provide recommendations on the revitalization of San Francisco’s downtown.
The live interview also questioned the viability of the doom loop narrative. Sandoval noted that while San Francisco needs to take further steps to revitalize the downtown area, the city’s negative portrayal is largely a misrepresentation.
In the interview, Sandoval is quoted saying that the panelists gathered for the ASP were overall impressed with what they found, noting that they were “expecting this horrid environment. And they were really surprised.”
You can find the ASP Report and a recording of the webinar discussing the panelists’ findings here.
