The Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Terwilliger Center for Housing recently announced the Hope Center and Berkeley Way as one of this year’s Award for Innovation in Attainable Housing winners. Established in 2022, the award recognizes affordable developments that simultaneously showcase creativity and replicability in their work.
Non-profit developers Insight Housing (formerly Berkeley Food & Housing Project) and BRIDGE Housing worked together to create the Hope Center and Berkeley Way, two mixed income developments located in Downtown Berkeley. They offer 32 emergency shelter beds, 12 transitional units for veterans, 53 permanent supportive housing units, and 89 affordable apartments. Additionally, job training, mental health, and substance abuse services are provided.
ULI San Francisco would like to congratulate Insight Housing and BRIDGE Housing for their recognition. Find more information about the award-winning development here.
