Ventures in the Vineyards is an annual event hosted by the San Francisco chapter of the Young Leader’s Group of the Urban Land Institute, a non-profit organization focused on responsible land use to create sustaining and thriving communities. Each year, 50 of our Young Leaders (age 35 and under) travel to Sonoma/Napa wine country to learn about current topics related to the local real estate industry, with a particular focus on charitable causes that have recently impacted the community. In addition to spreading awareness for the cause with our programmed content, we aim to make an economic impact by patronizing local businesses affected by the events and also by making a charitable donation raised from ticket proceeds and firms in the local real estate industry. In our most recent year, we partnered with the Sonoma CAP and raised over $22,000 for the 2019 February flood victims.

This year, we are proud to be partnering again with Community Action Partnership (“CAP”) of Sonoma County, a Santa Rosa based non-profit organization focused on economic and social aid for low-income families and individuals in the community. Recently, CAP has provided financial assistance to women and children via their Harold’s Home and Sloan House programs. These two programs provide critical support to women and children during either a transitional year or short-term stay and additionally provide life skills workshops, financial literacy, and much more. We are proud to be supporting these local programs as they are fully funded through charitable donations.
