ULI SF has selected SV@Home, Bay Area LISC, and David Baker Architects as its consultants on ULI SF’s Homeless to Housed (H2H) Initiative program in support of the City of San José in developing immediate implementable actions to address homelessness in the city. These consultants will design, develop, and facilitate workshops to address capacity building of homeless service providers; foster partnerships among faith-based organizations, homeless service providers, and affordable housing developers; and leverage the interfaith community network.
“We love finding new and innovative solutions to our communities most pressing needs. That’s why we train faith-based organizations to build homes on their land- inviting them to be partners in solving the housing crisis. LISC provides all the knowledge, tools, and connections that groups need so they can use their property for new affordable housing without having to be developers themselves.” – Cindy Wu, Executive Director, Bay Area LISC
“We were inspired by the call to be part of the Homeless to Housed Initiative and very impressed by ULI’s quick, clear response to SB 4, the Affordable Housing on Faith-Based Lands Act. Stable housing is the key to solving a range of personal, civic, and climate challenges, and our goal in this initiative is to provide expert guidance, accessible tools, and actionable technical information to help potential housing providers—including those with no previous development experience—envision and act on the potential of their sites.” – Daniel Simons, FAIA, Principal, David Baker Architects
