ULI SF & SPUR’s Office-to-Residential Conversions Report
Read ULI SF and SPUR's Office-to-Residential Conversions Report.
In a first-of-its-kind study, SPUR and ULI SF, in partnership with Gensler and HR&A Advisors, explored the viability of office-to-residential conversion at a time when San Francisco has the opportunity to reimagine its downtown core. The study not only explored the physical suitability of office buildings for redevelopment as housing, but it also tested the financial feasibility of conversion projects under different economic conditions and policy scenarios.
The unfolding economic crisis in downtown San Francisco must be met with bold strategies that fall outside of traditional policy thinking parameters. This latest report, From Workspace to Homebase, lays out six policy imperatives for realizing office-to-housing conversions on a large scale.
ULI SF is thrilled to have partnered with SPUR on this important topic, and we look forward to future collaborations and programming, alongside our members and nonprofit partners, in the coming months. Read the full report below and supporting analysis here.
