National Disability Independence Day commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990. The act prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.

ULI San Francisco will be celebrating the 32nd anniversary of the signing of the ADA all July long by highlighting the history, experiences, and achievements of individuals with disabilities. Join us as we read, watch, listen, and act towards making our communities a more equitable, safe, and inclusive space for everyone.
