Q: How did you first get involved with ULI and your committee?
I first became involved in my late twenties when the senior leadership of the firm I worked for in Boston encouraged me to join YLG. It accelerated my interest and understanding of real estate development, and it opened up my perspective on the relevance of sustainable design in developments. Once I arrived in San Francisco, I had an opportunity to become more engaged by joining the Sustainability Committee.
Q: What is your favorite ULI memory or event?
I enjoy connecting with new members at our New Member Coffees and then seeing them continuously, more engaged at events, on committees, and crafting friendships with other ULI members. It’s memorable to see this experience repeatedly.
Q: What keeps you engaged with ULI SF and what are you most excited about in the near future?
The membership body offers so many diverse perspectives. I stay engaged because the members and the organization provide me with an understanding of the world beyond just real estate and land use. It inspires me to actively keep learning and also provides me a platform to share my experience and mentor the next generation.
Q: What’s your leadership philosophy/style?
I think it’s important to energize your team with an inspiring vision and empower your team for success. This combination has provided me with a team experience where we can be serious but have fun and still execute our best work.
Q: When travel goes back to normal, where is the first place you want to go to?
Italy….Yes, the entire country.
Q: Outside of work and ULI, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy playing tennis, painting, and following F1.
