Emerging Trends in Real Estate: How long can the party last in the SF Bay Area and beyond? How do the November elections affect the industry?

In our annual sold-out forecast event covering Northern California local markets and U.S. trends, ULI SF hosts a morning of research and speakers to help understand the political and macroeconomic issues that will impact real estate in 2019.

Kicking off the morning, national real estate consulting firm PWC will share its findings from “Emerging Trends in Real Estate,” a forecast publication co-sponsored by ULI with a 38-year history, and is the most highly-regarded and widely-read forecast report of its kind.. The report provides an outlook on U.S. investment and development trends, real estate finance and capital markets, property sectors, metropolitan areas, and other real estate issues. The research draws on formal and informal surveys of real estate executives, investors, developers, and market experts around the U.S., including survey responses from over 1,500 real estate executives and personal interviews with over 350 industry leaders. Survey results relating to the San Francisco-Bay Area market will be featured in the presentation.

Election Recap: Next up is a short presentation from BMWL, one of the Bay Area’s leading public affairs consultancies, providing a recap of the November 6th local, state and national elections with the impact on commercial and residential real estate.

Finally, a panel of ULI member-experts and others will discuss findings from both presentations, identify the key headwinds to growth such as rising interest rates, low unemployment, growing inequality, and trade disputes, and set the stage for Northern California real estate in 2019.
