In recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May, ULI San Francisco is celebrating the contributions of the AAPI community to American history and culture while acknowledging and acting on the historic and current rise in violence and discrimination towards Asian Americans.

Join us in reading, listening, watching, and acting so we can individually and collectively create equitable, inclusive, and safe spaces for everyone.

• Volunteer for or donate to Compassion in Oakland, a grassroots organization that offers volunteer chaperones to elderly Asian Americans in Oakland.
• Get trained in bystander intervention in order to successfully and safely respond to, prevent, and intervene in instances of harassment.
• Get a jumpstart on your summer reading with some fiction and nonfiction books that explore and celebrate AAPI stories and cultures.
• Eat and shop your way around the Bay Area while supporting AAPI-owned businesses.

Donate

• Donate to SF Chinatown Community Development Center’s Feed + Fuel Chinatown campaign which helps provide hundreds of thousands of meals from local restaurants to Chinatown residents living in Single Room Occupancy housing.
• Donate to PATH to help them respond to the India COVID-19 crisis through providing access to oxygen, vaccination, testing, and more.
