Project Manager- Civic Center Community Benefit District (CCCBD)
The Civic Center Community Benefit District (CCCBD) improves and promotes San Francisco’s historic Civic Center through a host of planning, policy, and public programming initiatives. In addition to focused and responsive neighborhood clean and safe programs, CCCBD provides public open space beautification, activation, and advocacy on behalf of the area’s diverse constituency.
Job description
We are seeking a creative, highly organized, and proactive Project Manager to help us enhance the economic vibrancy of the Civic Center/Mid Market area. You will support in conceptualizing and executing on special events and programs, coordinating with City departments and community partners, and help cultivate new sponsorship opportunities. Assistance with marketing, grant writing and development activities will also be in the mix.
This position requires you to be a generalist, but with experience in community and economic development and event planning. You should be an expert multitasker with attention to detail, have a can-do attitude, and be comfortable taking the initiative on new projects.
Responsibilities
- Participate in staff brainstorming and implementation of public space programming
- Coordinate with vendors, stakeholders, and sponsors in preparation for events
- Prepare event budgets
- Liaise with City agency partners and assist with required project permitting processes
- Support day-of event set-up, tear-down, and clean-up operations
- Collaborate with marketing and communications team to promote programs
- Provide feedback post-event, documenting tasks, timelines, and costs, while proposingideas to improve future events and programs
- Assist with cultivating new partnerships and sponsorship opportunities
- Assist with grant writingRequirements
- Degree in marketing, public relations, project management, or related field
- Project management experience with a track record of successful events
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask across numerous deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinking
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proactive attitude
- Economic development experience (business retention and attraction) a plus
Additional Information
- Flexible work schedule with ability to ramp hours up as needed for scheduled events in the Civic Center area
- Availability to work in San Francisco office as needed
