Summary of Position:
As a Junior Staff Architect, an individual might serve as intermediate staff on a small project, and then work as junior staff on a larger project, or vice versa. The goal is not to create a rigid hierarchy, but provide clarity, and lay out the general expectations we have of unregistered staff with 0-3 years of post-graduate experience.
Staff at every level are supported and encouraged to develop their professional skills throughout their careers, but there is a greater emphasis placed on that task at this entry level. Junior Staff Architect should be actively pursuing licensure as a condition of employment. Review your schedule for tests, study sessions etc. with your PA and PM relative to project schedules.
Seek to learn skills, specific knowledge, systems, and codes to the level that you can explain it to a colleague, client, or contractor clearly and efficiently. This is a difficult skill to learn, but it is invaluable and will prepare you for future success in many endeavors.
Major Responsibilities:
- Project administration
- Markups & corrections
- Revit modeling
- Drawing sheets and Schedules
- Communication with the project and consultant team
- Meet delivery schedule
- Prepare cartoon set of drawing sets and outline specifications
- Document any program or scope changes
- Prepare code checks and floor area analysis
- Prepare Building Permit Submittal Set
Job Requirements:
This position requires a B.S. or B.A. in Architecture and 0-3 years in the practice of architecture. A current professional architectural registration license is preferred but not required. All drafting is produced with Revit and BIM coordination. Skills with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Newforma are a plus. Position will offer full benefits package upon hiring, salary is contingent upon level of experience.
