Building Efficiency Studies

The ULIsf Sustainability Committee has collected building efficiency information on four office buildings throughout the Bay Area. Learn about the innovative techniques used by these state of the art buildings.

Building Efficiency Studies

The ULI San Francisco Sustainability Committee has produced what is hoped to be the first in a series of best practice case studies on refurbishment and new build projects that have economic, social and environmental sustainability at their core.  Each case study looks at what inspired the client to consider their approach, as well as the financing mechanisms, real estate impacts and innovative energy, water and material characteristics that informed their decisions. Where possible, information on the monitoring and evaluation of the success of the refurbishment is included. This first set of case studies covers the office sector. Future case studies will look at different building typologies.

Thank you to the following volunteers for their work on these case studies:

Claire Bonham-Carter, Principal, AECOM
Riki Nishimura, Global Urban Design Research Leader, Woods Bagot
