ULI In Action

ULI San Francisco’s Policy and Practice Committee serves as the umbrella for all of the District Council’s policy-related work. The committee’s mission is to identify best practices for addressing land use challenges facing the Bay Area and work with agencies and non-profits to implement pragmatic solutions.

ULI In Action

ULI San Francisco’s work spans multiple content and programmatic areas which relate to and reinforce ULI’s larger mission: to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.

ULI SF’s Housing the Bay initiative and March 2018 summit are focused, member-driven efforts intended to facilitate and develop a solutions-oriented approach to the Bay Area housing crisis. This work links the areas of construction costs, innovative financing mechanisms, and community processes to tackle the pressing affordability challenge currently facing California and the Bay Area.

Our work also includes leveraging the Bay Area’s unique geographic and cultural position at the intersection of technology and innovation to act as a convener and thought leader around topics concerning the future of cities, sustainability, and resilience in the 21st century.

For our members, ULI SF is committed to increasing the presence and influence of women in the land use field, and also to providing first-class professional development programming for Bay Area Young Leaders and mid-career professionals across land use-related disciplines and career paths.

Finally, our work naturally intersects with the public sector, where our major initiatives include ULI SF’s Technical Assistance Panels, the UrbanPlan for Public Officials program, and Development Training Partnership with Bay Area municipalities.”
