On Thursday, November 9th at 6pm YLG is hosting Learn from the Best (LFTB), our signature event in which Young Leaders spend quality time with three different land use industry experts during a series of 20-minute roundtable discussions. The result is a unique and rewarding experience, which allows the next generation of real estate professionals to learn from recognized leaders in the industry.
Last year, I attended YLG’s 2016 Learn from the Best program and felt that it was an incredibly beneficial experience. This event gave me the opportunity to speak to the top Bay Area real estate professionals and land use experts about a wide range of topics including tips on career success, tricks of the trade, and current projects and trends. These leaders came from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, including the CEO and Founder of Veritas, Yat-Pang Au, and the former Director of the Planning and Building Department for the City of Oakland, Rachel Flynn.
This year’s LFTB program includes a similarly impressive lineup of the Bay Area’s top developers, investors, and government officials- most of whom have seen the San Francisco Bay Area Real Estate sector through various economic cycles and have experience navigating a variety of challenges with politics, regulations, and hockey-stick growth trends. These speakers include leaders representing a wide variety of firms including Related California, Facebook, Grovesnor, Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community and Development, Trammell Crow Residential, Northmarq Capital, and Align Real Estate.
As the Bay Area’s housing shortage continues to provide opportunities for developers, investors, and the commercial real estate industry, it will be interesting to hear insights from this year’s featured speakers on what we, as the next generation of real estate professionals, can do to mitigate risk while continuing to heed these exciting growth trends around the Bay Area.
Join us this Thursday at Covo in San Francisco for another exciting and informative Learn from the Best event!
