ULI SF’s UrbanPlan returns for a new semester! Virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities will be available this fall at Lowell High School, Piedmont High School, Los Altos High School, Palo Alto High School, San Jose State University, and UC Berkeley MRED+D.
The updated UrbanPlan curriculum has officially been rolled out in all schools. In order for us to continue delivering the program to all the schools, we need help from real estate professionals like you. Volunteering in the UrbanPlan program is a great way to utilize your land use knowledge, give back to the ULI and Bay Area communities, and meet fellow industry professionals.
If you’re an existing UrbanPlan volunteer, all you have to do is review a short updated curriculum refresher before you volunteer in the classrooms this fall. The training is on-demand, self-guided, and only takes 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Reach out to [email protected] for the updated curriculum review materials. Review materials will also be provided when you sign up to volunteer in classrooms.
Not a volunteer yet? Now you can become an UrbanPlan volunteer through an on-demand, one hour-long course in place of the ½-day live trainings. The on-demand course prepares you to engage with students and facilitate critical thinking about the decisions that are made during the development process.
Additionally, in-person UrbanPlan volunteer trainings for up to 30 people are available as a team building activity for your company or city department/agencies! Reach out to [email protected] to learn more.
We hope to see you in the classrooms this semester. The ULI SF UrbanPlan program wouldn’t be possible without the generous help of our volunteers!
