Get to know some of the ULI San Francisco members who work hard behind the scenes to develop the events and initiatives our District Council is known for. These industry leaders come from a variety of real estate land use sectors and lend their expertise and time to drive the work of our committees. We’ve asked these committee co-chairs to answer questions around their involvement with ULI San Francisco.

Executive Director – Land Use, Stanford University
Q. How did you first get involved with ULI and your committee?
Throughout my career, I have attended and benefited from ULI events. However, my current involvement with ULI began when I participated on a Technical Advisory Panel in 2017. Since then, I have been engaged in identifying TAP opportunities and convening experts across our ULI network to come together to brainstorm, problem-solve, and share ideas – its inspiring!
Q. What keeps you engaged with ULI SF and what are you most excited about in the near future?
Addressing pressing issues that impact land use and our urban form with passionate and talented people has kept me motivated and engaged. I greatly value these connections and I am excited to meet in-person for webinars, conferences, and gatherings to connect with old friends, meet new ones, and to begin to tackle ‘post-COVID’ challenges together.
Q. What’s your leadership philosophy/style?
As a leader, I believe that everyone brings value to the table. It’s important to understand your team’s individual strengths and weaknesses to ensure they have space to succeed yet opportunities to learn and fail. As a leader, it’s my responsibility to offer these growth opportunities balanced with calculating the risk to the organization and our mission.
Q. Outside of work and ULI, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy watching my daughters excel at what they love, entertaining and cooking for friends and family, catching a San Jose Earthquakes game, and traveling with my husband to new and interesting places.
