ULI SF Annual Impact Report FY 2021
Check out this year's highlights contributed by ULI SF members, sponsors and staff.
Get to know some of the ULI San Francisco members who work hard behind the scenes to develop the events and initiatives our District Council is known for. These industry leaders come from a variety of real estate land use sectors and lend their expertise and time to drive the work of our committees. We’ve asked these committee co-chairs to answer questions around their involvement with ULI San Francisco.
Mona Lovgreen, San Francisco Programs
Partner & San Francisco Studio Chair, DIALOG
Q. How did you first get involved with ULI and your committee?
I have been involved with ULI for many years, but I got involved with ULI SF Chapter in 2017 after I moved here from Vancouver to open DIALOG’s first US office. It has been a valuable and worthwhile association for me as I got to know the local industry and engrain myself in the professional community.
Q. What is your favorite ULI memory or event?
In 2019, I was asked to Co-Chair National Fall Conference Tours, working with a committee of 25 amazing volunteers drafting 25 fantastic tours showcasing the best of the Bay Area. Of course, the conference never came to SF due to the pandemic and our tours were dropped to only a handful of virtual tours. But it was a pleasure working with the team.
Q. What keeps you engaged with ULI SF and what are you most excited about in the near future?
People. I enjoy meeting so many talented professionals through my engagement with ULI. I am most excited about getting back to in-person events, as we are all Zoom-ed out. We just hosted our first in-person tour of the Salesforce Park and was great seeing so many people show up.
Q. What’s your leadership philosophy/style?
I enjoy a collaborative leadership style. I believe true leadership is not about one leading and others following but about discovering each individual’s value and fostering it to shine through, and also realizing the potential of the team’s collective power and orchestrating those efforts in a cohesive way.
Q. What do you hope to achieve in the next year?
I hope for us not to just go back to business as usual. I hope to use this past year and many experiences that came with it as a catalyst for positive change in the way we design, the way we work together, and the way we interact with others and our environment.
Q. When travel goes back to normal, where is the first place you want to go to?
My next adventure is Morocco.
