ULI SF Members Instrumental to 2020 ULI Virtual Fall Meeting
ULI San Francisco would like to thank our local host committee and subcommittees for all their work in making the Fall Meeting happen.
Get to know some of the ULI San Francisco members who work hard behind the scenes to develop the events and initiatives our District Council is known for. These industry leaders come from a variety of real estate land use sectors and lend their expertise and time to drive the work of our committees. We’ve asked these committee co-chairs to answer three questions around their involvement with ULI San Francisco.
Lynette Dias, Policy and Practice Committee
President/Principal, Urban Planning Partners, Inc.
Q: How did you first get involved with ULI and your committee?
Attending Development 101 in 2002 was my first ULI experience. I loved it—so I attended the Fall Meeting in SF and became an UrbanPlan volunteer (an amazing program). This led to becoming the UrbanPlan committee’s co-chair and now the Policy & Practice co-chair.
Q: What is your favorite ULI memory or event?
The 2015 Fall Meeting in SF – it was fun to help plan, present, and organize a mobile workshop. The networking was fantastic.
Q: What’s your leadership philosophy/style?
Be clear on your mission and values and let them guide you; be kind and honest and build trusting relationships; be comfortable not knowing the answer; go with your “informed gut’ after challenging yourself about why you might be wrong; and be confident yet humble.
Q: What’s front of mind for you right now?
The election!
Q: When travel goes back to normal, where is the first place you want to go to?
Scandinavian countries.
Q: If you could have any career in another profession, what would it be?
An industrial designer to design the things I am searching out that have not yet been made.
