Po Bronson
General Partner & Managing Director
IndieBio / SOSVPo Bronson has lived in San Francisco for 39 years. He is a General Partner at the global venture firm SOSV, and Managing Director of SOSV’s IndieBio in San Francisco, which operated for nine years at 6th & Jessie Street, so he is deeply familiar with the Market Street challenges. SOSV is one of the most active climate tech investors in the world, and every year funds 20 new deeptech startups who work out of SOSV’s San Francisco headquarters. Po is also well known as an author and science journalist, having written 8 bestselling books that are available in 28 languages, and he is the recipient of 9 national awards for science journalism. As a community leader, he co-founded and managed the San Francisco Writers Grotto for 20 years, which provides low-cost office, writing-room, and classroom space to local writers. The mission of the Grotto is to create a more deeply inclusive literary culture and community.

Jony Ive
Founder
LoveFromSir Jony Ive KBE is a designer.
He joined Apple in 1992. As chief design officer, Jony was responsible for all hardware, user interface and packaging design, as well as the major architectural projects Apple Park and Apple retail stores. He led the design team for more than two decades, creating the iMac, PowerBook, MacBook, iBook, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods and HomePod. Co-founder Steve Jobs referred to Jony as his “creative partner”.
He holds more than 14,300 patents worldwide, uniquely spanning both software and hardware design. Jony currently serves as chancellor of the Royal College of Art, is frequently voted one of Britain’s most culturally influential figures.
In 2019, Jony gathered the creative collective LoveFrom, which includes Ferrari, Airbnb and Moncler amongst its first collaborators.

Stanley Saitowitz

University of California, BerkeleyStanley Saitowitz has for many years been an advocate for the rich multifaceted impact of good design through both practice and teaching. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and received his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Witwatersrand in 1974 and his Master of Architecture at the University of California Berkeley in 1977. His first house was built in 1975, and together with Stanley Saitowitz/Natoma Architects Inc. has completed many award-winning buildings and projects.
He is Professor Emeritus of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley and has taught at numerous schools, including the Elliot Noyes Professor, Harvard University GSD, the Bruce Goff Professor, University of Norman, Oklahoma, UCLA, Rice, SCIARC, Cornell, Syracuse, the University of Texas and the University of Witwatersrand. He has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad.
The Transvaal House was declared a National Monument by the Monuments Council in South Africa in 1997, the New England Holocaust Memorial received the Henry Bacon Medal in 1998, and in 2006 he was a finalist for the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Award given by Laura Bush at the White House.
Five monographs have been published on the work, and articles appeared in many magazines and newspapers. His paintings, drawings and models have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums. A new book ‘Lectures Writings Photos’ will be published in May.

Candace Damon

HR&A AdvisorsCandace is the Chair of HR&A Advisors, Inc. and has over 35 years of experience in the management of complex, public-private real estate and economic development activity. Candace has devoted her career to crafting sustainable urban redevelopment strategies in cities across North America. Her specific areas of expertise include supporting master planning efforts for large-scale revitalizations, including downtowns and waterfronts; ensuring the long-term viability of urban open space; leading organizational planning for non-profits and institutions; and addressing the financial challenges of making commercial and multifamily residential buildings energy efficient.
Candace is a member of the Board of the City Parks Alliance and the Urban Green Council, a founding partner of G. Works. She is also a member of the New York City YMCA Real Estate Advisory Committee, and a member of the Advisory Board and President Emeritus of the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation. She received the Women of Influence Award from the Real Estate Forum in 2008. Prior to joining HR&A in 1988, Candace worked as a Real Estate Associate at Webster & Sheffield, a Research Associate at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, and as an analyst at the New York City Office of Management and Budget. Candace holds a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.

Alicia John-Baptiste
Chief of Infrastructure, Climate and Mobility
City and County of San FranciscoA seasoned leader and public policy professional, Alicia John-Baptiste has over 25 years of experience reimagining systems to create better outcomes for people. She currently serves as Chief of Infrastructure, Climate, and Mobility for the City and County of San Francisco. Alicia honed her optimistic vision and practical approach to systems change while President and CEO of SPUR, a renowned urban policy organization focused on building a Bay Area where all people can thrive. Prior to her time at SPUR, Alicia developed deep appreciation for local government and its commitment to the collective good while serving in leadership roles for the City and County of San Francisco, including at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and the San Francisco Planning Department. Experienced in both public policy and complex organizational management, Alicia focuses her talents and experience on collaborating for a better future. Alicia holds a Masters degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University, and has served on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, the Transbay Joint Powers Authority Board, and the Oakland Budget Advisory Commission, among other service roles. She and her husband met many years ago in San Francisco, and now spend most of their free time watching their kids play soccer.

Becca Prowda
Community Leader & First Lady of San FranciscoBecca Prowda proudly serves as the First Lady of San Francisco. She is also the Director of Protocol for Governor Gavin Newsom and the State of California.
Previously, Becca was Director of Community Affairs at Levi Strauss & Co. While there, she led partnerships focused on sustainability and equality, built employee engagement programs aligned with the company’s social impact goals, and launched the Safer Tomorrow Fund to help reduce gun violence.
Between 2004 and 2009, Becca worked in San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s Office as Confidential Assistant and in the Office of Protocol. Before that, she helped lead the events team at the Robin Hood Foundation in New York City, one of the largest poverty-fighting organizations in the country.
Originally from Seattle, Becca holds a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College. A passionate supporter of the arts, she serves on the Board of Directors at SFMOMA and is Co-Chair of the museum’s Committee on Trustees. Becca enjoys exploring San Francisco’s vibrant neighborhoods and trying new restaurants. She can often be spotted picking up trash around the city with her husband, Mayor Daniel Lurie, and their two children.

Harriet Tregoning
Senior Advisor
New Urban Mobility AllianceHarriet Tregoning is the founding Director of NUMO, the New Urban Mobility alliance, a collaborative effort aimed at harnessing disruptions in urban transportation to make cities more sustainable, livable and just, housed at the World Resources Institute. She is part-time at NUMO, working to ensure that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funds have the greatest possible impact on the health and prosperity of communities, increasing their affordable access, resilience, and connections to jobs and daily needs. Harriet is spending the other half of her time serving as Senior Advisor on Land Use in the Office of the Secretary, at the US Department of Transportation.
Harriet previously served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of Community Planning and Development at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. At HUD, she initiated a $1 billion National Disaster Resilience Competition and supported communities in building strong and resilient economies. As Director of the D.C. Office of Planning, Harriet helped to make the nation’s capital walkable, bikeable, equitable and globally competitive. She served on the boards of the Transportation Planning Authority of the Washington Area Council of Governments, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, and the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy. Harriet was previously Secretary of Planning in Maryland, a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and a Loeb Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Alma Du Solier

Hood Design StudiosAlma Du Solier, Studio Director and Principal at Hood Design Studio, seamlessly blends environmental planning with landscape architecture. She began her journey with a Bachelor of Architecture from ITESM Campus Monterrey in Mexico, later honing her skills in landscape architecture under Walter Hood at UC Berkeley. As the third member of Hood Design Studio, Alma played a key role in landmark projects such as the DeYoung Museum, helping to elevate the firm’s prominence in the cultural sector. Throughout her career, Alma has worked at a range of studios, contributing to monumental projects across Latin America, China, and the Bay Area. She eventually returned to Hood Design Studio and also resumed teaching at UC Berkeley. Renowned for bridging the gap between designers and environmentalists, Alma serves as a vital communicator, facilitating collaborative solutions among diverse stakeholders. With over two decades of experience, Alma brings exceptional adaptability to her work—navigating projects of all scales with finesse, weaving in layered narratives, and expressing her deep passion for design.

John King
Urban Design Critic
Formerly San Francisco ChronicleJohn King is the former Urban Design Critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, a post that for decades allowed him to explore Market Street and its stubborn challenges from almost every conceivable angle. He also is the author of “Portal: San Francisco’s Ferry Building and the Reinvention of American Cities,” which was published in 2023 by W. W. Norton and has been a Northern California bestseller in both its hardcover and paperback editions.
The Berkeley resident’s writing has appeared in such publications as Metropolis, Architectural Record and The American Scholar, and he is an honorary member of the American Society of Landscape Architects as well as a two-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Criticism. Last year, King received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the San Francisco Press Club.

NYC Department of TransportationJanette Sadik-Khan is one of the world’s foremost authorities on transportation and urban transformation. She served as New York City’s transportation commissioner from 2007 to 2013 under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, overseeing historic changes to the city’s streets—pedestrianizing Broadway in Times Square, building nearly 400 miles of bike lanes, launching Citi Bike, the world’s largest bike share system outside of China, and creating seven rapid bus lines and more than 60 plazas citywide. A founding principal with Bloomberg Associates, she works with mayors around the world to reimagine and redesign their cities. She chairs the National Association of Transportation Officials and Global Designing Cities Initiative, implementing new, people-focused street design standards, which have been adopted in more than 150 cities across the United States and around the world.

He has been awarded architecture’s highest accolades, including the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Praemium Imperiale Award for Architecture in Japan, the RIBA Royal Gold medal and the AIA Gold medal. He is president of the Norman Foster Foundation, based in Madrid. In 1999 he was honoured with a Life Peerage, becoming Lord Foster of Thames Bank.
