    ULI’s Silicon Valley Committee is pleased to present the fourth annual Uncorked: Leading Silicon Valley 2021.
     
    This exclusive event highlights the careers of three powerhouse women leaders who are changing the landscape of the real estate industry. Our exciting new virtual event will allow attendees to get up-close-and-personal with some of the most dynamic and engaging real estate and land use leaders in the Silicon Valley and broader Bay Area.

    Melinda Ellis Evers, Co-Founder and Managing Principal, Ellis Partners
    Ms. Evers is a Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Ellis Partners, one of the leading commercial real estate developers and investors in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Ms. Evers’ primary responsibilities are to formulate and oversee company strategy and operations as well as lead capital raising for the firm.  Melinda started her real estate career with A.R. Jarvis & Company, a regional mortgage brokerage firm, and spent seven years in acquisitions and portfolio management with Grubb & Ellis Realty Advisers prior to the founding of Ellis Partners.
     
    Ms. Evers holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  She is a Member of Lambda Alpha, the Urban Land Institute, the Stanford Professionals in Real Estate, the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics and serves as the co-head of the fundraising committee for the PREA Foundation.  Ms. Evers is a guest lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.  Ms. Evers’ past board affiliations include The Foundation for San Francisco’s Architectural Heritage, Bay Area Mortgage Association, Homeless Prenatal Program, San Francisco Day School and Safe and Sound.  She is currently a board member of The UCSF Foundation Investment Company. 
     
    Candice Gonzalez, Chief Housing Officer and Managing Director, Sand Hill Property Company
    Candice Gonzalez is the Chief Housing Officer and a Managing Director of Sand Hill Property Company. She oversees the company’s residential developments, including mixed-use, mixed-income, and 100% affordable housing. Prior to joining SHP in 2018, Candice was CEO & President of Palo Alto Housing Corporation for over 10 years. PAHC is an affordable housing developer, builder, and manager in Silicon Valley. Before PAHC, Candice worked as a real estate attorney and broker for 10 years. As a first-generation immigrant from the Philippines, Candice knows firsthand what it means to be housing insecure and what housing stability can do for a family. As a beneficiary of affordable housing in their early years in the United States, it allowed Candice and her three sisters to focus on hard work and education.
     
    Candice currently serves on the boards of the Housing Trust Silicon Valley, SV@Home, and SPUR SJ. Candice received her BA from U.C.  Berkeley and her J.D. from UCLA School of Law. She resides in Palo Alto with her husband and three little kids.
     
    Kazuko Morgan, Vice Chairman, Cushman & Wakefield
    Kazuko Morgan is known for leasing and selling some of the most famous retail properties on earth — from San Francisco’s historic Phelan Building to Las Vegas Sands’ projects in Macau. As Vice Chairman for Cushman & Wakefield, she helped sell the iconic Tiffany & Co. building in San Francisco’s Union Square for $135 million in 2016. She utilizes the Cushman & Wakefield global platform to source buyers from across the world.
