In response to demographic shifts favoring walkable downtowns and the amenities associated with a more urban lifestyle, some Bay Area suburban centers have begun exploring innovations in urban living, creating upscale downtown experiences of their own. City Center Bishop Ranch will be a modern public square for the Bay Area’s Tri-Valley region. The 300,000 square-foot retail, dining and entertainment center will tie together one of the Bay Area’s most attractive suburban areas with the dense employment core at Bishop Ranch to create a new downtown. In future phases the project will be surrounded by walkable dense housing and additional hotel rooms.
Designed with passionate attention to every detail by the internationally renowned architect Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Sunset Development Company, the 300,000 square foot center is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2018. This first phase of City Center Bishop Ranch will include an airy piazza, world-class restaurants, cafes, cinema, fitness and a distinctive collection of innovative lifestyle and fashion retail stores. Tenants include The Lot, Equinox, The Slanted Door, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Fieldwork Brewing, Delarosa, Boba Guys and Athleta.

This event offers members the opportunity to tour the retail center just prior to opening and hear from the developer, city officials and the design team about the project vision, challenges and the excitement the project has generated as a model of future suburban transformation.
