    Biographies 
     
    Samidha Thakral, Vice President at Lendlease Development 
     
    Samidha Thakral is Vice President at Lendlease Development in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to joining Lendlease, Ms. Thakral was Development Director at Equity Residential and Director at Hines. Ms. Thakral has led the ground-up development and acquisition of projects valued at over $5 billion including 1,400 apartment units, 6 million square feet of office and over 800 condominium units.

    She currently serves as Vice Chair of the ULI San Francisco Innovation Council that brings together leaders in Real Estate, technology and Venture Capital.

    Ms. Thakral has a Master’s in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Sushant School of Art & Architecture. When not at work, she enjoys cooking and pottery-painting with her two daughters and supports multiple charitable initiatives in India that help educate children.
     
    Shawn Hill, Partner, Moderne Ventures

    Shawn Hill is a Partner at Moderne Ventures. Moderne Ventures is a venture fund headquartered in Chicago, Illinois which invest in early stage technology companies in real estate, finance, insurance, and home services. He works strategically with technology companies and members of the Moderne Network to source investments, building synergistic value between industry executives and Moderne’s portfolio while providing operating support to portfolio companies.

    Shawn brings 20 years of sales and operational experience in the real estate, lending, and financial services sectors. Prior to joining Moderne, Shawn was the Sr. Director of Business Development at DocuSign for its Real Estate vertical. His responsibilities included building and executing DocuSign’s Real Estate strategy and creating strategic customer and technology partnerships throughout the industry.

    Over his career, he has overseen industry-shaping technology sales and implementations with the major residential and commercial real estate brands, lenders, home builders, and multi-family organizations while expanding reach and revenue in these segments for multiple companies. He specializes in technology driven go-to-market execution while bridging strategic business needs with innovative industry technology solutions. Prior to DocuSign Shawn worked as a General Manager at Constellation Software and senior operational positions at Chase and Bank of America.
     
    Roelof Opperman, Managing Director of Real Estate Technology Investment, Fifth Wall

    Roelof Opperman is a Managing Director on the Real Estate Technology Investment team at Fifth Wall, where he focuses on technology and innovations within the multifamily, office, and hospitality real estate asset classes.
    Roelof has led Fifth Wall’s investments in Lyric, Eden, Appear Here, Hippo, Industrious, Loggi, Recharge, Lime, and Aurora Solar.

    Previously, Roelof worked at Norwest Venture Partners, Evercore Partners, Goldman Sachs, and Bridgewater Associates. Roelof is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, from Emory University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
     
    Kitty Sullivan, Investor, JLL Spark

    Kitty is an investor with JLL Spark, a strategic venture fund that invests in early-stage Proptech companies. She previously worked at carpooling startup Scoop, LinkedIn, and management consultancies Bain and The Monitor Group. She is passionate about mentoring and collaborating with startups of all sizes on strategy, business ops, and growth. She has a B.A. from Bowdoin College and an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
