Please join the ULI East Bay Programs Committee to learn about the long and sometimes fraught history of the Alameda Point redevelopment project from current and former City of Alameda officials, and also get the inside scoop from several active and successful developers on the ongoing creative reuse of military buildings and plans for new construction. We’ll get a first-hand look at the exciting projects that are creating a booming live/play/work environment at the former Naval Air Station, which is also home to important wildlife habitat and a unique shoreline and open space landscape on the Bay.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline and hear how new life has been brought to historic buildings, which together with new creative projects have revitalized an underused and underappreciated neighborhood in transition located in the heart of the Bay Area. During the tour, we will learn about the entitlement hurdles, evolution of the vision, and construction challenges, and see first-hand the bustling activity sprouting from this reused military base.
The tour will end with a hosted happy hour at the nearby Almanac Beer Co., Barrel House & Taproom!
