Meet us in the Castro! The ULI SF DEI Committee invites you to Rikki’s, the only sports bar in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to celebrating women’s sports. Join us for a no-host gathering to cap off night two of the ULI Fall Meeting. This LGBTQ+ Meet-up is open to all: the LGBTQ+ community, allies, Fall Meeting attendees and non-attendees alike.

    • Where: Rikki's at 2223 Market Street, San Francisco
    • When: Wednesday, November 5, 8-10 PM
    • What: No-host meet-up open to all, no registration required

Located in San Francisco’s historic Castro District—long recognized as a cornerstone of LGBTQ+ activism and culture—Rikki’s brings new energy to this legacy with a modern, welcoming space that celebrates inclusion, community, and the joy of women’s sports.

"From the 1960s to the 1990s, Rikki Streicher operated queer and lesbian bars in San Francisco which provided a safe and inclusive gathering space for all members of the LGBTQ community. Rikki was a supporter of women’s sports, including through the Maud’s and Amelia’s sponsored sports teams and as one of the founders of the Federation of Gay Games. Rikki was instrumental in creating spaces for women and women’s sports in San Francisco, and we want to tell her story and those of other community leaders."

Rikk’s co-owner Danielle Throe recently served on ULI San Francisco’s Technical Assistance Panel for the City of Mountain View focused on affordable and middle-income housing. Thank you, Danielle, for your dedication to creating inclusive and resilient communities throughout the Bay Area!
