ULI San Francisco: Alameda Redevelopment Tour
Please join the East Bay Programs Committee as we explore the fascinating history of the Alameda Point redevelopment project and hear from City of Alameda officials. Next, we’ll get the inside scoop from many of the active and successful developers working on the ongoing creative reuse of buildings and their plans for new construction. Come experience a first-hand look at the exciting projects that are creating a booming live-play-work environment at the former Naval Air Station, an area home to important wildlife habitat and a unique shoreline and open space landscape on the Bay.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline and hear how new life has been brought to historic buildings, which together with new creative projects have revitalized an underused and under-appreciated neighborhood in transition located in the heart of the Bay Area. During the tour, we will learn about the entitlement hurdles, evolution of the vision, and construction challenges, and see first-hand the bustling activity sprouting from this reused military base.
The tour will end with a hosted happy hour at the nearby Almanac Alameda Barrel House, Brewery and Taproom, a former Naval hangar constructed in 1942.
