The Young Leaders Group (YLG) is pleased to present Venture in the Vineyards 2018.

Join a group of fellow YLG peers for our annual trip to Napa and Sonoma wine country for a day of networking, exclusive content, private wine tastings, outdoor picnic lunch, and fun. A chartered bus will depart from San Francisco at 11:00am sharp. Seating is limited to the first 40 registrants and is open to ULI YLG members only.  Sign up early to reserve your seat!

This year’s content will focus on the devastating impact of the October 2017 Northern California wildfires.  Spread over more than 245,000 acres of land, the wildfires were the most destructive in the history of California, causing over $9.4 billion in insured damages and displacing over 100,000 residents from their homes.  Almost a year later, the community’s long-term recovery and redevelopment efforts are just beginning.  We are honored to have confirmed David Guhin (Assistant City Manager, City of Santa Rosa) and Diann Kitamura (Superintendent, Santa Rosa City Schools) as our keynote speakers who will share their stories over a picnic lunch at Hook and Ladder Vineyards and Winery whose founder was a San Francisco firefighter in the 1970s.

In recognition of the destruction suffered by the community, ULI will donate 10% of the event’s registration proceeds to the Santa Rosa City Schools.  The donation will go towards rebuilding the Santa Rosa High School Farm at Alba Lane which was severely damaged during the wildfires.  The loss included a barn, a caretaker residence, vehicles, livestock trailers, tools, and the farm’s irrigation system and water pump.   Santa Rosa City Schools envisions rebuilding the Alba Lane Farm into a multi-use agricultural education center for instruction, training, storage, livestock, and a variety of farming uses.

Please note that the pickup/drop off location is TBD and will be announced in the coming weeks. Pickup/drop off will occur at a central location in San Francisco.
