Join us for a Fireside Chat with Karen Alschuler, principal at Perkins + Will.  ULI’s Fireside Chat series is an exclusive, members-only opportunity to get together in an informal setting to engage with senior real estate leaders on a variety of topics. Get to know other YLG members while learning about relevant real estate topics and career paths.

About the Speaker:

Karen Alschuler is an urban designer and planner who has spent over 35 years tackling some of the most interesting and urgent urban issues. She is known for projects that define the new generation of urban waterfronts, set design parameters for transformation of large urban districts, and provide for expanded cultural and educational facilities. Locally, her projects include Treasure Island, Mission Rock, Mission Bay, and the Transbay Terminal.

Prior to joining Perkins + Will, Karen was a partner at Skidmore Owings and Merrill and principal at SMWM. She has been active in ULI for more than 30 years, serving on multiple committees, authoring articles, and participating in project panels and onsite review teams. She is also a fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and has been elected president of Commercial Real Estate Women in Boston, New York, and San Francisco. Karen attended college at Brown University and received a Master of City Planning from U.C. Berkeley.
