Franciscan Towers Affordable Housing: ULI Insider Tour
San Francisco rents are among the highest in the nation, but innovative funding and partnerships are creating tons of affordable housing including the newest, 105-unit Franciscan Towers. Join ULI for a tour that provides insights on its multi-layered financing, the fast-tracked, four-year redevelopment (fast, for S.F.), and its affordability and community organizing focuses. Owned and operated by the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) this property spent 4 years in redevelopment following a major 2011 fire. The Franciscan Towers, newly re-opened in 2016, offers below market rate apartments with specific units dedicated to the formerly homeless, as well as disabled.
In addition to affordable housing development the TNDC focuses on community organizing, urban food growth, and runs an after school program out of the Franciscan Towers. Along with the tour there will be a discussion on the continued work the TNDC is doing to maintain affordable housing along with a good quality of life in San Francisco.
Following the program, we’ll head to Mikkeller Bar for a non-hosted happy hour and opportunity to network and discuss the Franciscan Towers and other exciting projects!
