A First Look: The Orchards at Walnut Creek

On the morning of September 8th, 2016 a group of ULI members gathered for a panel discussion and sneak peak of The Orchards at Walnut Creek, a new retail project. This development is set on twenty-five acres and once finalized will feature 200,000sf of new shops anchored by a 55,000sf Safeway Lifestyle Center. In addition to the new infrastructure, the property will exhibit a park-like 4 acres of preserved community open space. Marlow Hits a Home Run in Russian Hill

On Tuesday, March 25, over 70 ULI members toured Marlow, a new 98-unit residential project located in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood.  The tour was led by Mike McCone, Vice President of Development at Oyster Development, and Garrett Frakes, Principal at Polaris Pacific. Rene Cazenave Apartments: A Model of Permanent Supportive Housing

Rene Cazenave Apartments is located on Block 11A of San Francisco’s Transbay Redevelopment Area. The development was awarded to a joint team of BRIDGE Housing and California Housing Partnership through a competitive selection process in 2008. The 120 units of permanently affordable supportive housing serves a diverse resident group of formerly chronically homeless individuals who have physical and mental disabilities. On February 12, ULI members and guests embarked on a guided walking tour of Project Los Altos, SFMOMA’s four month exhibition of contemporary art in downtown Los Altos. School of Dentistry Dorm Rooms Turned Luxury Resi Units

The creators of 2130 Post presented their work on Tuesday, July 23 to a sold-out audience. 2130 Post is one of the newest residential adaptive reuse projects to debut in San Francisco. Located in the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood directly across from the redesigned Hamilton Recreation Center and Park, the building offers 71 newly fashioned rental units. ULIsf Crosses The Bay to Tour The Bond

Delivered in 2008, The BOND condominium project in Oakland’s Jack London Square District faced some of the worst residential real estate market conditions in US history.  Given the circumstances, developer Mike Reynolds of Embarcadero Pacific Company made the decision to rent it and wait for a better day.  That better day finally came in 2013. Modern Upgrades to a Historic Stadium

On June 19th ULIsf was treated to a tour of UC Berkeley’s Memorial Stadium and Student Athletic Training Center, led by Bob Milano, the facilities director. The most striking aspect of the massive undertaking was all the dramatic changes required to actualize the project: major earth/berm removal, adding a two-story lower level training center, creating a concourse, adding multi-tiered clubs and new press boxes.
