ULI Technical Assistance Builds Momentum for Brisbane and Concord

Cities today are facing many challenges. Strained budgets, tense political environments, and limited staff capacity are just a few of the obstacles jurisdictions must contend with during the community planning process. ULIsf Welcomes New Associate: John Means

ULI San Francisco is excited to welcome our newest associate, John Means. John hails from Philomath, Oregon and received a bachelor of science from Cornell University while also pursuing an interest in Spanish language and culture through research opportunities in Spain, Venezuela and Honduras. He moved back to the west coast to begin work in community planning with Berkeley-based, MIG Inc. Rene Cazenave Apartments: A Model of Permanent Supportive Housing

Rene Cazenave Apartments is located on Block 11A of San Francisco’s Transbay Redevelopment Area. The development was awarded to a joint team of BRIDGE Housing and California Housing Partnership through a competitive selection process in 2008. The 120 units of permanently affordable supportive housing serves a diverse resident group of formerly chronically homeless individuals who have physical and mental disabilities. With lead tenant Weebly lined up, and remaining tenants in the contracting phase, 460 Bryant is shaping up to be a success story for Scott Haskins and Sierra Maestra Properties.  Scott led a ULI group on a tour and shared the history of the property, from its beginnings as a liquor warehouse to its recent acquisition and conversion to creative office space. On February 12, ULI members and guests embarked on a guided walking tour of Project Los Altos, SFMOMA’s four month exhibition of contemporary art in downtown Los Altos.
