Get to know some of the ULI San Francisco members who work hard behind the scenes to develop the events and initiatives our District Council is known for. These industry leaders come from a variety of real estate land use sectors and lend their expertise and time to drive the work of our committees. We’ve asked these committee co-chairs to answer questions around their involvement with ULI San Francisco.

Q: What’s your leadership philosophy/style?
Never ask someone to do something that you are not willing to do yourself. Strong leaders lead by example and empower people to maximize their individual talents by providing instruction and guidance along the way.
Q: What keeps you engaged with ULI SF and what are you most excited about in the near future?
Constant learning opportunities and the ability to network with professionals in the premier real estate organization keeps me engaged with ULI SF. I am most excited about working on solutions to assist in stabilizing the real estate industry post Covid-19, and strengthening the pipeline of diverse candidates within the industry.
Q: What is your favorite ULI memory or event?
Two memories/events really stick out for me. First, the Icons in Real Estate event with George Marcus which was a fireside chat moderated by Michael Covarrubias – thoroughly entertaining and educational. Second, attending the ULI 2017 Spring Conference and participating in the TOD Council.
Q: Who has been an instrumental person in your career?
Professionally — Marvin Dozier, KPMG Partner who encouraged me to not become inundated with the small items, but see the big picture; and personally — my dad, who taught me to take advantage of every opportunity placed in front of you and be the best at every assignment.
Q: If you could have any career in another profession, what would it be?
Basketball coach and/or public school teacher.
