The submission window for the Market Street Reimagined competition officially closed last week, and the responses blew us away.. Thank you to everyone who contributed a bold and creative vision for the future of San Francisco’s most iconic street.

We’re thrilled to share that we received 173 submissions from around the world! Design firms, individuals, community groups, artists, nonprofits, students, and more answered the call, with entries arriving from 9 different countries. It’s clear: the future of Market Street has sparked imaginations far beyond the Bay Area.

Your visionary ideas will give our esteemed panel of jurors an incredible range of innovation and imagination to explore. These proposals help chart a new course for downtown San Francisco in the wake of the pandemic and the shifting nature of how we live, work, and gather in urban spaces.

Next up: Our jury will convene in San Francisco from July 9–10, and we’ll unveil the winners at an invitation-only awards ceremony on July 16th. Winners will be publicly announced on July 17th on ULI San Francisco’s website. Stay tuned to find out who will take home a share of the $100,000 prize!
